skepticism = 懐疑主義（*疑いを持つ事）

最近の人々は、懐疑主義に影響されています。彼らは、自分の目に見えるものしか信じる事が出来ないのです。



They want to clear these tropical rain forests to sell the wood from the trees and then use the land to raise cattle. Japan imports a lot of that wood and the meat from cattle is often exported to Japan, and all those animals and plants are in danger of extinction.

牛を太らせるために熱帯雨林が伐採されています。その多くの木材や肉は、日本が輸入しており、多くの動植物達が絶滅の危機に瀕しています。

disposable chopsticks = 使い捨ての箸→割り箸

You could stop using disposable chopsticks. Carry your own chopsticks with you and then you can use them when you eat out. If everyone did that Japan wouldn't need to import so much wood.

まずは、割り箸を止めてみよう。自分の箸を持ち歩けば、外食で割り箸を使う必要もなくなるでしょ。もし、みんながそうすれば、日本が大量の木材を輸入する必要もなくなるだろう。

You could also stop eating humgergers so often. A lot of the meat in them comes from ranches on land which used to be a rain forest. Think twice about how important that we must change our lifestyle.

ハンバーガーを食べるのも止めてみて。ハンバーガーに使用されている肉の多くは、熱帯雨林だった場所で飼育された牛からもたらされているんだ。ライフスタイルの重要性を考えてみて。
